Chasing rainbows…

About

With a lift of his chin, and a bit of a grin, without any doubting or quiddit, he started to sing and he tackled the thing, that couldn't be done, and he did it

I managed to finish early on Friday to travel down to London to see Cat on her birthday (she was 22 I think!). For those not in the know, Cat works the OU in MK with my many chums. Anyway I arrived in London and walked to the hotel we were all staying at in Picadilly Circus. On my travel I had the pleasure of seeing a 6′2″ transvestite with green hair! God bless London!

As expected, I arrived with barely a minute to spare, so I got rapidly changed and before I knew it we were riding the underground to Stockwell tube station, and from there a short walk to A Toca, a portuguese restaurant. We could tell where it was while we were walking from the clouds of bbq smoke, not unsurprisingly from the 10 foot long row of bbqs outside the restaurant! There was a bit of a celebration taking place!

The food, the restaurant and the company were fantastic, and the beer flowed (mostly down my throat - I have become rather fond of a drink in recent times!). We were a long time in the restaurant, and before I knew it, it was about 12.30am!

A short taxi ride later, we arrived in Trafalgar Square. We hit a trendy bar and I had more beer, and bought Cat a perculiar vodky espresso. However by this point we were all exhausted and rather drunk, so we headed back to the hotel where nothing eventful happened at all. ;)

The next morning, I woke up with a stomach hangover. Dan felt fine. Dan is a git! :) Dan and I were going to MK for Lindsey’s bbq, so we bid the others adieu, and grabbed a train there, via a mango/strawberry smoothie! Once in the metropolis of MK, and fighting our way past the hordes asking if we there there for Take That, we drove round aimlessly courtesy of my personal taxi the fabulous Kris!

We went to Tescos, bought food and beer, and headed over to Lindsey’s where much bbq based action took place, even while Dan and I were very unsociable and watched the World Cup. During the second match, I even managed to fall asleep while sitting up!

The next day, we headed over to MK Station once again, but this time for curry buffeting. Which was nice. But nicer still was when Johnno joined us from Bedford. The fat fcuker even had 2 servings!

Driving over to a pub, we watched the England match. Which was good. Even though the beer went straight to my head, and I was bright red throughout! Shame I wore my white England shirt instead of my red one; I would have had an excuse then!

After the match, Johnno was a superstar and gave us a lift to Bedford where we could catch a train home. I had a nice chat with Dan, and am now a man with a mission ;)

Its been a great weekend, even though I am exhausted from all of the sleeping and non-physical exercise I participated in!! :p Same again next weekend anyone?! :)
